Eco Conscious jewellery
Running a small Jewellery business as a silversmith and emphasising eco-friendliness is my Ultimate Goal. Here is how I made my jewellery business eco-friendly:
Sustainable Materials: Choose ethically sourced and recycled silver or other metals for your bespoke jewellery . Recycled silver reduces the demand for newly-mined silver and minimizes environmental impact. I also use sustainable materials such as responsibly sourced gemstones, recycled glass, and Handmade Findings (where possible).
Local Suppliers: I try to source my materials from local suppliers to reduce carbon emissions associated with transportation. I get my Beads, Gemstones and Metals all from the UK.
Minimal Waste: I utilize scrap silver and other metals by recycling and reusing them in new designs. I collect any leftover materials for future use or donate them to other local artists if i can’t find a use for them within my studio.
Packaging: I choose eco-friendly packaging options such as recycled paper or cardboard, reusable fabric bags, or biodegradable materials.
Green Studio: when I set up my workshop I installed energy-efficient lighting and equipment. I use natural light whenever possible and switch to LED bulbs. I also use a water butt outside my studio for soldering and cooling metal .
